Fewer Ingredients, Better Results

I have often wondered why hair care products, like shampoos, conditioners and skin moisturiizers, are formulated with so many ingredients. Most bottles have enormous lists of ingredients, usually that I can hardly read without a magnifying glass. Why so many? Do more ingredients help my hair get healthier? Make my skin better? No.

There is no scientific reason for so many ingredients. Excessive ingredients diminish the therapeutic benefits of the few very effective ones. Also, there is a greater incidence of alergic reactions and potential toxicity with lots of different ingredients.

What I want are products that have few, but powerful, ingredients to make my hair and skin as healthy as possible. I have been formulating some one-of-a-kind hair conditioning cleansers for myself and family. These have less than ten ingredients, and have given me, my husband and kids better looking hair and a healthier scalp. Family and friends are always trying to hit me up for some too. I don’t mind. I am happy to share the science of beauty.
